Dispersal management in schools

We all know that reputed schools provide a clean and well-organized environment that is conducive to learning and they go the extra mile to build a safe environment for its students. Schools often build connections between teachers, students, parents, and administrators and make each one of them feel that they are part of a community where they are safe.

Apart from setting high standards in academics, schools have also become professional in their way of functioning. Nowadays they focus on each and every minute operational details to run the school in a professional way. Most of the good schools have gone digital in serving certain facilities to its students, the parents, and its own staff.

Now that we are witnessing the greatest disaster of our lifetime, schools and colleges have been compelled to go online. Starting from teachers working from home to students taking online classes, parents interacting with school authorities over digital channels – it’s quite evident that a pandemic has changed the usual operational practices.

Post COVID-19, when schools start to re-open, safety will the most significant and predominant factor. Any sort of crowding on school premises will not be entertained at all. The next biggest question which comes to my mind is how will schools manage dispersals?

Usually, dispersals happen in three categories – School transport, Private car-pool, and Parent pick up. Students who avail of school transport, line up in the school premises and board their respective buses one by one. The same operational practice goes for car-pool students. The art of crowd management comes into the picture when there are hundreds of parents (if not more) waiting outside the school exit gate to collect their child.

How about parents booking their position in the queue virtually to collect their child and waiting in the parking lot comfortably? Won’t that make the exit gate of the school congestion-free? The answer is “Yes”.

Boolean Array, Canada has come up with a smart, easy to use app-based virtual queuing solution – Q Waits Business which will keep the school premises congestion free. Parents will be able to book their position in the queue virtually from the comfort of their home/office or car-parking and wait in the car instead of crowding the school gate. The app will do the waiting and the parents can come to pick their child only when it’s their turn. If any parent fails to reach the school when his/her turn approaches, the app gives the privilege to step back and allow the person behind to go ahead.

By implementing the virtual queuing app - Q Waits Business, schools can be more efficient in handling dispersals.
